Ambulatin wanders the depths of Italy to explore its culture - how it’s shaped from the top down and bottom up, revealing what the West built under pressure and what runs through its veins. Previously focused on Latin Europe (Spain, France, Italy & Portugal), the blog now centers on Italy for more focused storytelling, with a focus on history, language, urban planning, and resilience. Past articles are preserved in the “Archived Countries” section.
Posting schedule is anywhere from once a week to once a month. Some articles occasionally might be cross-border, for contextual reasons.
Ambulatin n. /ˈæm.bjʊˌleɪ.tɪn/ — A blend of "ambulatory" and "Latin"
About me: I’m Adam, an American (born & raised) who learned Latin languages as an adult and has been living abroad, almost uninterruptedly, for a few decades. I’m a self-taught Europhile, as well as an INTP (if you’re into that!), with an unexplainable & immense interest in the humanities & social sciences. I’ve been studying Europe for almost three decades and living in the region, on and off, for nearly 15 years.
